Marina di Praia sits tucked between vertical limestone cliffs on a coastline that recorded more than 5.2 million overnight stays in 2025, yet Praiano itself remains the quietest commune on the Amalfi stretch.
The fishing village supplied the Duchy of Amalfi with anchovies and coral divers for centuries before tourism arrived in the 1960s, and its single beach — a crescent of dark sand framed by Saracen tower ruins — still functions as a working harbour where fishermen mend nets alongside charter skippers.
